If ye are prepared ye shall not fear

I have learned so much last night as our family discussed about preparedness. We indeed now live in perilous times. There are rumors of wars, a possible epidemic /ebola virus/, and climate change. Those could frighten anyone, everyone; whether rich or poor, educated or not. I was one.

Get your own instruction
But our God has established ways on how we can cope and safely gather. We should heed to the prophets and the revelations they give.

I was able to find an instruction from the leaders of our Church dated 2002 which told us to start preparing a year's supplies of essentials. At the same time we were instructed to have our own 72-hour kits; purposely for calamities and disasters.

Come, ye thankful people, come;
Raise the song of harvest home.
All is safely gathered in
Ere the winter storms begin.
God, our Maker, doth provide
For our wants to be supplied.
Come to God’s own temple, come;
Raise the song of harvest home.

Hymns, no. 94

Never has this instruction had so much impact on me till last night. The challenge is real. Prices of necessities would inevitably rise. And if ever an epidemic would strike, chances are you would have to stay at home for safety. Your storage of essentials would sustain you and your family.
